Flipped Car Partially Closes LIE

Right westbound lanes closed at Route 106.

Update: Police reported they had reopened all lanes in the vicinity of the accident.

The Long Island Expressway was partially closed Monday after a car flipped over, cops said.

Nassau County Police confirmed that they shut down the right westbound lanes of the LIE at about 9:30 a.m. Monday to aid an overturned car.

Lanes were closed between exit 41 to Route 106/107 and exit 42 to the Northern State Parkway.

Emergency and police crews responded to the scene and shut down the lanes to aid the victim in the car. The victim's status is currently unknown.
