Nassau County Police closed ramps at exit 40 of the LIE in Jericho as conditions deteriorated in the nor'easter snow. Police initially could not confirm when the ramps would reopen, but said it would depend on how quickly plows and sand trucks would be able to clear the area of ice and snow.

Nor'easter consequences were felt nearby in Plainview as police reported lane closures on the Northern State Parkway at exit 37. The Patch Traffic map said the closures were due to a fallen tree and would also be cleared by 8 p.m.

The nor'easter that hits Long Island just 10 days after Hurricane Sandy tore through the area has already closed state parks and will reportedly bring along dangerously high winds.
