Flipped Jeep Causes Major Morning Delays

One injured in accident and sent to hospital.

One person was injured when a Jeep flipped over, causing a major traffic jam, on Jericho Turnpike Wednesday morning.

Syosset Fire Department and Nassau County Police responded to a call at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning to Jericho Turnpike. Responders found that a silver Jeep Wrangler with a canvas top had flipped over near the intersection at Bruce Drive.

Fire fighters said one person sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Polie shut the westbound lane of Jericho Turnpike to flip the car right side up. The 50-minute lane closure caused major rush hour delays.

Police have not yet confirmed the cause of the accident.
