Syosset firefighters joined Hicksville Fire Department and Nassau County Hazmat units in responding to Midlane South in Muttontown at about 2:39 p.m. Thursday. A homeowner had found that a recently filled 20-lb. propane tank was leaking.
Responders and hazmat units determined the fuel needed to be burned off. Crews used specialized equipment to burn the leaked fuel.
No one was injured in the burning.
