Look Out for Golf Club-Wielding Robber on Bike

A suspect in a Plainview attempted robbery Sunday used a unique combination to execute his heist: a BMX bike and a plastic golf club.

According to the Second Squad of the Nassau County Police Department, a 50-year-old woman was walking on Wilson Place at 3 p.m. when a black male riding the bike struck her across the face with a white plastic gold club. He fled after trying and failing to grab the purse that was strapped around her neck. 

The woman was transported to an area hospital, where she was treated for abrasions and lacerations. 

The subject was wearing a light blue helmet with a visor, a blue short-sleeve button-down shirt and blue shorts. The bicycle was dark-colored.
