Man Attacked, Robbed in Woodbury

Police hunt two men who used a handgun to strike a victim in the head and take his wristwatch.

Nassau County Police are hunting two men who allegedly attacked a 60-year-old man and robbed him in Woodbury Thursday morning.

Detectives said the victim had driven to 60 Crossways Park Drive West and got out of his car when a white SUV approached him. Police said two men got out of the SUV and confronted him and demanded his wristwatch. One of the men had a handgun and used it to strike the victim in the head, knocking him to the ground, cops said. The two took the watch from the victim, got into their car, and drove away in an unknown direction.

The men are described as black males, both about 25 years old and approximately 5-foot-10, police said. They were both wearing dark colored pants, dark colored hooded sweatshirts, and bandanas over their faces, detectives said.

What BS! I can't wait to find out the identity of this guy by my friend who's a 2nd precinct officer. This is the 3rd similar case in exactly 3 years, where a man between 40 and 60 fabricated very similar stories, all within the syosset/woodbury area. I could not believe the made-up perps were "black", "25" and got away, etc... Yes, I am being sarcastic! Clearly he's a no-good typical woodbury pedophile trying to get his 10k reimbursed for his 40 year old rolex. To whomever truly gave this guy a bat to his head recently,, it clearly DID NOT HELP!! LOL. What a stupid town, what stupid people.

Hopefully newsday will continue to do us the honor of revealing these idiots' identities. This racism, bullcrap must stop and the first step is to publically identify these liars and embarrAss them!

I agree with Jim. Having investigated jewelry theft for Lloyd's of London for almost a decade, I can say with very near certainty that this is a classic insurance scam, right down to the stereotypical description of the suspects.

SHOULD THSE GUYS LISTEN TO A 60 JEWISH GUY IN AUDI, OR ASSUME AS THEY DO BEST AND LOOK FOR A SPANISH MAN IN A ESCALADE?

JIM, I HOPE YOU ARE NEAR A COMPUTER FOR A BIT LONGER, I HAVE A FEELING THAT YOUR GONNA WANT TO VIEW SOME UPCOMING COMMENTS!! WATCH THESE FAT GIRLS FROM WOULDBURRAY MAKE FOOLS OUT OF THEMSELVES WITH COMMENTS WRITTEN BY NAMES SUCH AS ANONYMOUS

The last time this happened (last year?) I suggested to Patch that they hold off on publishing such a story until there's a little more information from investigators. Otherwise, people get hysterical, become afraid to go outside, and start calling the cops every time a minority drives through town.

Jim, Larry, & Papa,
You may want to retract your comments once your friend Deputy Barney Fife informs you of the identity of victim.

For instance, critical thinking is not about finding fault with people who make noise by using leafRead More blowers, but about an in-depth thinking of goals and values we will achieve by limiting their use. People could earn more quality life and peace of mind by having quiet time in the early morning and the late evening. The value of mental peace is regarded crucial in our life. Critical thinking gives us a process of thinking to get into the depth of the problem. It begins with an analysis of the situation (structure, background, or setting), in which the information of when, where, and who is identified. The information may help set up seasonal differences in restricting hours of leaf blower operation. Further thinking will lead critical thinkers to note the implication of the new ordinance to the business of licensed landscapers. Also, critical thinkers may think about the development of a soundproof leaf blowing machine. Critical thinking helps us to increase and share our common values, rather than tries to find faults with people who make problems.
