Man Charged With Stealing Car, Auto Parts

Police said the man stole the vehicle from a gas station in Jericho and auto parts from a Syosset store.

A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after Nassau police said  he stole a 2010 Nissan from a Shell Gas station in Jericho Tuesday night. Police also allege the man later stole from the store in Syosset.

Police found Sediq Ghafoori, 31, no known address,  pulled over on the LIE at exit 43 at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday. An investigation by a highway officer discovered the vehicle had been stolen from the Shell on Tuesday at approximately 9:05 p.m.

He was arrested and taken to the Second Precinct stationhouse for processing. Further investigation found he had also broken into the Parts Plus store at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday morning, stealing several items, police said.

Ghafoori was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
