Man Charged With Stealing from Woodbury Gym Locker

The Centerport man allegedly went through the victims car, taking money and sunglasses after swiping a cell phone and car keys from the locker.

A Centerport man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police said he stole several items from a gym locker and items from a car at the Equinox gym in Woodbury.

Daniel Aronoff, 24, was arrested and charged with fourth degree grand larceny after police said he swiped a cell phone and car keys from a locker. The victim, a 40-year-old man, said he noticed Aronoff acting suspicious in the locker room and then went to check his locker and noticed his stuff was missing.

Police said workers at the gym then went to the victim's car in the parking lot and saw Aronoff going through the victim's car trunk. Aronoff surrended the phone and car keys, but fled the scene with money and a pair of sunglasses around 12:40 p.m., according to police.
