To Chel, I'm the definition of an uneducated, naive parent? What do you know about me? You don't even know the ages of my kids. My kid may encounter it one day and he may even try it. But I really hope to God that when he does encounter it, I have taught him enough and given him enough in his life where he makes the right decision and walks away. He may not because even good people with a lot to lose get caught up in bad stuff sometimes. Time will tell. It doesn't change the fact that I don't want elementary school kids to find a needle on the street. It happened. In a really good neighborhood. With one piece of crap that moved into an illegal rental. You sound like this has really struck a cord with you though. You're lashing out at everyone here. I'm guessing you have lost someone to addiction, or you are/were an addict yourself. Please get help.

its just annoying how the news picks and chooses who to display,,,,,u would think these were the only kids in nassau to be arrested for the sale of heroin.......guilty or innocent,,,if the public sees u in the news they automatically begin to think negatively....plus these articles are not all fact,,,,,its amazing the stuff these writers magically spin in,,,,,,
Dumb Long Islander's January 22, 2013 at 09:05 PM
Lauren-- if only all "long islanders" were like you my life wouldn't be ruined from the lies of media. No sense trying to explain your common sense to uneducated people who live with their heads in the sand. They will understand when their child, who they sheltered their whole lives, ends up on the cover. Trying to get these ignorant, dumb, believe what you hear, fools to realize their are major newslines that could use publicity like women being stoned to death because they tried to get an education is not worth your energy. You obviously are smarter than them and get the idea of life.
