'Normal Rush Hour' Expected After Collision Causes Delays
Effects of collision that caused hour-long delays Tuesday fading, says LIRR.
After a crash caused delays and cancellations all day, LIRR officials said commuters can expect an almost normal evening commute Tuesday.
Despite much of the accident area being cleared, LIRR alerted commuters that residual delays and possible cancellations should be expected Tuesday evening. The Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma lines are ones who will feel the delays, said LIRR.
Delays of about 20 minutes were being reported along the two affected lines as of 4:30 p.m.
Two work trains collided west of Hicksville before 12 p.m. Tuesday, sparking delays and cancellations, according to MTA.
