Oil Truck Fire Scare on Jackson Avenue
Syosset Firefighters successfully extinguished the truck fire Friday; school evacuated for safety.
Theresponded to multiple calls Friday for an oil truck on fire outside St. Edward the Confessor School on Jackson Ave. and quickly extinguished the fire before things got out of hand.
At around 10:30 a.m. Friday, the school was evacuated as firefighters quickly worked to put out the fire before it could spread to the 1500 or so gallons of fuel oil the truck was carrying.
The fire was put out, successfully avoiding a dangerous situation, and students returned to the school shortly after.
