Police Blotter: Home Invasion; Cash and Jewelry Stolen

Crimes

- Police reported a According to detectives, two unknown masked subjects entered a Shady Lane home through a locked back door. They were confronted by a 49-year-old woman and her teenage son.The woman was attacked by a subject, and was hospitalized, while the male victim was unharmed. The subjects fled the scene possibly in a silver/gray SUV in an unknown direction. There were no proceeds.

- An on Thursday around 11 a.m.. There were no proceeds and no injuries reported. Police said on Friday that a screen door was damaged at the home.

- Tires and rims were stolen from a car on Eldeberry Road in Syosset on Aug. 19.

- Electrical wires were stolen from Welback Electric in Woodbury on Aug. 22.

Arrests

- Diego Orellana, 27, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle without a court ordered interlock device on Jericho Turnpike in Syosset on Aug. 20.
