Police Investigation at Syosset LIRR Cancels Two Trains

The 1:36 pm and 2:36 pm eastbound trains to Huntington were cancelled today because of a police investigation.

The 1:36pm  and 2:36 pm eastbound trains to Huntington were cancelled today because of a police investigation at the. An individual at Syosset station was removed to a medical center for psychiatric evaluation, according to an authority on the scene. He added that no one was injured, refusing to comment further.

Syosset Taxi driver Cameron Cardoza said he was waiting in the taxi line on the south side of the station when he heard the incoming 1:36 train blow its horn more times than usual and come to an early stop with the last car blocking the Jackson Avenue crossing.

Cardoza said a coworker who was present at the incident told him a woman on the tracks refused to move when the incoming train blew its horn.

"It could have been a lady wanting to hurt herself or who fell on the tracks right before the train came," said Cardoza. "From what I heard all she had was a bruise but a police ambulance came through."
