Update: Police Seek Missing Syosset Teens, One High-Risk

Teens last seen leaving Mercy First residential facility on foot Sunday night.

The Missing Persons Squad reports that Shakeem Smith and Gabriel Hernandez were found on Tuesday.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding three teens who went missing from the Mercy First residential community in Syosset Sunday.

According to detectives, Gabriel Hernandez, 16, Jonathan Acevedo, 15, and Shakeem Smith, 14, were last seen leaving Mercy First Group Home, 525 Convent Road on foot at approximately 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2014. 

One of the missing, Shakeem Smith, suffers from a cognitive disability.

Detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating these juveniles and request anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact the Nassau County Police Department Missing Persons Squad at (516) 573-7347 or to call 911.
