Syosset Braves the Snowstorm

Several Syosset shops were closed down due to the storm Monday, but most were open and the fire department was operating as usual.

If you're looking to work out, you're in luck: in Syosset said they will be operating normal hours today.

Hungry and have no food in the house? You're also in luck, because most places should be open.

Wondering how the snow affects the They had several crews stay in the firehouse overnight in case of emergencies, and a couple of fire district employees were responsible for running the plows all night to clear the snow in and around the firehouse, according to SFD Chief of Department John Capobianco.

"We had a couple of small calls,"  Capobianco said. "A man called about a transformer explosion, and an 80-year-old man fell into the snow and was trapped."

He said that thankfully the man was okay, and that the fire department's response to emergencies so far has been quick - almost as fast as normal.

It is very interesting to see the need and power in leaving comments on other blogs. I started doingRead More this way before reading this blog. I do this only if the post makes meaning to me and is really provoking in content. I guess I will have to this more often. Thank you so much!
