Syosset F.D. Responds to Several Calls Over Weekend

One wreck was fatal.

* The Syosset Fire Department responded to a two-car accident just past midnight Saturday morning that caused a truck to overturn on the Long Island Expressway westbound, west of South Oyster Bay Road. There were no serious injuries.

* Fire departments from Syosset and Plainview responded to a car accident on Highway 135 and Wallace drive that killed one man early Sunday morning. The Nassau County Police Department has not released the name of the deceased, but Syosset Patch has confirmed that he is not a Syosset resident.

* A father and daughter on a motorcycle escaped serious injury Sunday afternoon when a car turned in front of them at Split Rock Road and Berry Hill Road. Both were taken to Nassau University Medical Center.

* Fire departments from Syosset and Jericho responded to a two-car wreck after 7 p.m. on the Long Island Expressway eastbound. Three people were injured, including one that required airlifting from the scene. Their conditions are not known.
