Syosset FD an 'Innovator of the Year'
FD's Jack Randazzo implemented new, reliable communication system.
was chosed as one of the 2012 Optimum Lightpath's Innovator of the Year awards. Superintendent Jack Randazzo accepted the award on behalf of the department. The award recognizes those who have used the the system in new and creative ways to improve their establishments.
Syosset implemented the use of Optimum Lightpath to improve communication in the fire district.
"…Being in the professional emergency response business, it’s important to have working communications," especially during inclement weather, said Randazzo. Switching the system from the old fashioned copper wire communication to the modern-day system has made responding to fires more reliable.
