Syosset Firefighters Extinguish Porch Fire
The fire was put out around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
Syosset firefighters extinguished a house fire on Meadow Lane in Syosset Saturday morning around 8:50 a.m.
Arriving units found an exterior porch fire that had been knocked down with a garden hose by the home owner, but had extended into the home. Firefighters extinguished all fire and an extensive overhaul operation began.
Chief of the Department Robert Kaplan was in command of the operation. The home sustained moderate damage and no injuries were reported.
