Syosset Firefighters Free Trapped Driver from Overturned Car

Firefighters and police responded to the Woodbury crash around 9:45 a.m. Thursday.

The and Nassau County Police responded to an overturned auto with one entrapment on Plainview Road in Woodbury around 9:45 a.m. Thursday.

A car had struck a landscape trailer and overturned on the street, trapping the driver inside the vehicle. Fire Department personnel used multiple hydraulic cutters to remove the roof to rescue the trapped driver. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted to NUMC by NCPD Aviation Unit #6, which landed in a nearby field.

Syosset Engine 585 stretched a precautionary hose line during the extrication operation and Plainview Road was closed in both directions.
