A Syosset resident suffered minor burns to her hands early Tuesday morning putting out a kitchen fire apparently caused by a scented candle.
Syosset Fire Department First Dep. Chief Robert Kaplan confirmed that the fire was already out when volunteers arrived at 26 Overlook Dr. Firefighters received the call at 3:30 a.m.
The victim was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment.
