Update: Syosset Woman Struck, Killed on 25A

Jean Carr, of Syosset, died Thursday after being struck by a car in Cold Spring Harbor.

A 78-year-old woman from Syosset died Thursday after being struck by a car on 25A, cops said.

Suffolk County Police have identified the victim as Jean Carr, of Syosset. Carr was crossing Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor at 6:01 p.m. when she was struck by a 2002 Honda Accord, police said. The driver, Rita Wallace, had a suspended license, reported cops.

Emergency crews raced Carr to Huntington Hospital following the accident. Witnesses reported seeing CPR being performed on her in the street.

Carr later died of her injuries, police confirmed late Thursday night.

Wallace has been charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and was released on bail, police reported. The charge is a misdemeanor.
