With the recent arrest of a Far Rockaway man in Syosset for flying down the LIE at over 100 miles per hour, Patch wanted to know if there were streets in town that were just as bad as the highways.
What streets in Syosset are notorious for speeding? Are they main roads like Jericho Turnpike or South Oyster Bay Road? Are they winding backroads through Woodbury and into Oyster Bay Cove?
Tell us in the comments.
But, for amusment only, I nominate Dorcas Ave.
I think you're messing with me, Linda T. That "someone" was me! Actually, the idea was to end the current Bethpage Bikeway extension in the lot on Miller Blvd. that NY State just cleaned up. Then, because funding for what would have been a beautiful bike path required that the path lead to a railroad station, Miller Blvd would have been a suggested route to complete the trip. Of course, nobody is riding to the train station around here anyway, so you never would have seen a bicycle on Miller Blvd. And, refresh my memory...what, exactly, would have been so bad about that? :)
