BillieJean I have no problem with people making comments but the tirade by the original poster was offensive and ignorant!! Yes I do have family and friends who are police officers but that sure doesnt cloud my thinking that there are a lot of bad police officers out there. We read about them everyday. I have been living in Plainview for over 14 years and I consider this one of the safer towns on Long Island. Is it perfect? No!! Does it have its crime? Yes!! But compared to many of the towns in Nassau and Suffolk I found Plainview a great place to live and raise my children!!

Gerard, my apologies if I offended you. I didn't see the original post that was offensive, so I can't comment on that. I understand what you are saying, as I grew up and still live in Plainview. My Dad bought the land here when my parents were first married because he wanted us kids to be safe. And we were. Of course there is the occasional crime here and there, I mean we aren't a gated community so things can happen but for the most part I love it here and but for the fact that its become extremely congested over the years, I'm happy here. Anyway, if I offended you, it was not my intention.
