Two Hospitalized in School Bus Accident

A two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning sent the driver of the car and a school bus aide to North Shore University, where they are listed in stable condition.

An early morning accident at around 8:45 a.m. in Syosset involving a mini-school bus packed with children inside and a car sent the driver of the car and a school bus aide to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Syosset Fire Department officials.

The accident occurred on the intersection of Burke Lane and Willets Drive at around 8:45 a.m. when the car and mini-school bus collided.

The driver of the car and a school bus aide inside the bus were sent to North Shore University hospital and were listed in stable condition, and no children inside the bus were injured in the accident, according to Syosset Fire Department officials.

The Syosset Fire Department and Nassau County police arrived at the scene and worked on securing the vehicles and minor leaks shortly after the accident.
