VIDEO: Nassau County Auxiliary Police Graduates Class

A look at what the auxiliary police do and the latest members to join their ranks.

Nassau County graduated 30 auxiliary police officers Monday night after they completed basic training at the Police Academy. 

These volunteers assist the Nassau County Police Department during special events such as parades, festivals and emergencies during severe weather.

Syosset, Bellmore, North Bellmore and Merrick are served by three auxiliary police units. To become a member, call 826-3887 or email bellmoreauxpolice@gmail.com.
