Willits Elementary students welcomed Syosset firefighter Ken Johnson into their kindergarten classes for fire safety lessons.
Johnson, a former Syosset Fire Department chief and current educational officer, taught the children the stop, drop, and roll method, proper behavior during emergency situations, and other fire safety regulations. Johnson also showed children what firefighters look like in full gear so they wouldn't be frightened if they saw one in their house. Eager students asked questions and explored the inside of a fire engine from Co. 4.
