Government Leaders Honor Local Eagle Scout

Sean J. Wright of Troop 170 develops a water garden for area seniors.

Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs, D-Woodbury attended the Eagle Court of Honor for Sean J. Wright of Troop 170, Rough Riders District, Theodore Roosevelt Council, BSA.

The event was held Sept. 15 at Faith Lutheran Church in Syosset was also attended by Assemblyman Charles Lavine, D-Glen Cove and Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto.

Sean’s Eagle project involved building a water garden for the residents of The Atria Senior Assisted Living Facility .

Sean said he was thrilled to see the joy on the resident’s faces as the project unfolded and, finally, was completed.

Jacobs said, “Sean is a very special young man who is now studying Marine Engineering at SUNY Maritime College, a Plainview Fire Department Jr. Fireman, and Lead Petty Officer for a U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Division. He has also spent a week in West Virginia doing home repairs in a poverty stricken area."
