Natalie Portman Rumored to Speak at DNC Thursday

The former Syosset student will speak, report says.

Actress Natalie Portman, who once called Syosset home as a student at , is expected to take the same stage as President Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention Thursday, according to a CNN.com report.

The report states that Portman, 31, was secretly scheduled to appear alongside fellow Hollywood A-listers Scarlett Johansson and Kerry Washington, although none of the actresses' publicists confirmed.

Portman has been an active supporter of the Democratic party, campaigning for Obama and then Sen. Hillary Clinton in 2008 and Sen. John Kerry in 2004.

The appearance is according to a tentative schedule provided to CNN and could be subject to change.

The three actresses each supported Obama publicly in 2008, and could appeal to key demographics the Democrats are aiming for: women, young people and African-Americans.

Portman began attending Solomon Schechter Day School after moving to Long Island with her family in 1990. She graduated from Syosset High School in 1999.
