Next S.T.O.P. Disposal Day Coming to Syosset

Collection will take place at Department of Public Works.

The second of eight 2010 Household Hazardous Waste Disposal  programs (S.T.O.P.-Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) and Electronic Waste Collection days for Oyster Bay Town residents is scheduled for Sunday, May 16.

Collections will be accepted at the Town of Oyster Bay Department of Public Works garage, located at 150 Miller Place, Syosset, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. 

"The S.T.O.P. program, which provides residents with an environmentally safe means for disposal of household hazardous waste, is now in its 25th year," Councilman Joseph Pinto said. "This is the seventh year for the Electronic Waste Collection program, and the Town of Oyster Bay is the first Town on Long Island to have a regularly scheduled e-waste program."

Additional S.T.O.P./Electronic Waste Collection dates for 2010 are: Saturday, June 19, Town Hall South, 977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa; Saturday, July 17, Sea Cliff Village Department of Public Works, Altamont Avenue; Saturday, August 21, Hicksville Fire Department, West John Street; Saturday, September 25, Solid Waste Disposal Complex, Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road, Old Bethpage; Saturday, October 16, Town Hall South, 977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa; and Sunday, November 14, Town of Oyster Bay Department of Public Works Garage, 150 Miller Place, Syosset.
