Federal officials, including Congressmen Peter King, R-Seaford, and Steve Israel, D-Huntington, along with members of the FBI and Office of Homeland Security on the precautions they should take in the wake of recent, non-specific terror threats against U.S. targets.
They stressed that there is no specific, credible threat against any Long Island synagogue or other institution. They urged the leaders to be vigilant and consider a security assessment provided at no cost by the government.
