Syosset Service Disrupted on LIRR Branches

Service restored after accident in New Hyde Park suspends some trains.

Update: As of 1:09 p.m., LIRR announced all service was restored on the line. Scattered delays followed the announcement.

Service on three Long Island Rail Road lines was suspended Friday morning after a train struck someone on the tracks in New Hyde Park.

LIRR service was suspended between Jamaica and Hicksville. The Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Oyster Bay branches were affected .

The railroad set up alternate service to and from the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson branches with a shuttle train that will operate between Hicksville and Babylon. There are train transfers  at Hicksville to the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson branches.

Customers are advised to take alternate LIRR service on the Babylon/Montauk Branches.
