Syosset Volunteer to Be Honored Tuesday
Katharine Gallardo will be honored at the Town of Oyster Bay's 13th Annual Women of Distinction ceremony Tuesday night.
The Town of Oyster Bay is hosting the 13th annual “Women of Distinction” program at a special ceremony beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, and one Syosset women will be honored at the ceremony.
Katharine Gallardo, of Syosset, has been named the "Distinguished Women Volunteer" for her outstanding efforts in numerous charities, collection drives, blood drives, and fundraisers in the community.
Gallardo was featured in a , a story that chronicled her daughter Gina's battle with Leukemia and Gallardo's planned bone marrow and blood drive at Plainview Reformed Church. And on Oct. 17, 2010 with proceeds going to various cancer charities.

Gallardo and other recipients will be presented with a Town citation and a special
pin designed to commemorate the occasion. Also expected to attend are
several past recipients, to help commemorate this year’s 13th
anniversary of this program.
The event will be held in the Town Board hearing room located at 54 Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay. Other designees live or work in the Town of Oyster Bay, in communities such as Hicksville, Locust Valley, Massapequa, Oyster Bay and Brookville.

Distinguished Woman in Health Services – Dr. Kathleen Feeley
Distinguished Woman Humanitarian – Terrie Magro
Distinguished Woman Volunteer – Katharine Gallardo
