The Great Escape: Music Under the Stars

There is something to do almost every evening at the Town of Oyster Bay parks for the month of July and part of August.

Here's our weekly getaway for date night seekers.

For the next 28 consecutive days, except Sundays, you can enjoy a free concert or movie brought to you by the Town of Oyster Bay. 

Starting July 5 and running until August 6 mark your calendar for various star-studded performances by the likes of Gregg Rolie of Santana, Eddie Money, Tony Orlando, and Air Supply, to name a few.

TOB parks, beaches, and schools will have its fair share of concerts, some of which will be right in our backyard. 

Tote along a picnic dinner, a blanket, and some folding chairs and listen to Dean Karahalis and the Concert Pops of Long Island on June 22 and sing-along to Broadway Tonight! on June 27 while they perform songs from memorable musicals, both appearing at . And on August 3, Body Heat will play hits from the 1950's to the present day, appealing to all ages.

Neighboring areas such as Oyster Bay's Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park & Beach will be hosting The Hit Men on August 5. And on July 13, Hicksville High School Field will showcase two bands; an Aerosmith tribute band called Draw the Line and Voyage, a Journey tribute band.

If you love to be wowed by Grucci Fireworks make sure you head over to John J. Burns Town Park on July 12 at 7:30pm for their Tribute to America with country western star, Aaron Tippin.

Check the TOB website for more information about acts appearing at the other sites: Ellsworth Allen Park in Farmingdale, Tappen Beach in Glenwood Landing, and Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park along with a special treat - paying homage to our famous Oyster Bay neighbor, Billy Joel - Mike Delguidice and Big Shot will perform at Tobay Beach on July 20.

To break it up, the Town is offering Movies by Moonlight every Thursday at 8:30pm where free popcorn and ice cream will be served.  On July 14 Syosset-Woodbury Community Park will be offering a screening of Despicable Me.

Most shows begin at 8:00pm and there is no seating prior to 4:00pm.  They are all held outdoors so call their hotline, 24 hours a day, for updated information at 516-767-7900 in the event a concert is cancelled due to inclement weather.
