The Great Escape: Something for Seniors

The Town of Oyster Bay has a great summer recreation program devoted to senior citizens.

Here's our weekly hourly getaway for mature audiences.

Calling all sexagenarians, septuagenarians, octogenarians, nonagenarians, and centenarians to take advantage of activities galore for the young at heart, during the heat of the summer.

Today's escape, brought to you by the Town of Oyster Bay, will be running from July 5 until August 18.

Perhaps you will want to try some line dancing, take an aquatic class, learn yoga or take up some mini tennis (a brand-new program) or make something crafty...you can do all this and more on Thursdays locally at the Community Center.

Actually, each day of the week you can head over to one of the TOBAY community centers and parks for fun-filled programs and classes.  For example: Mondays make your way to the North Massapequa Community Center for Wii and Bingo. On Tuesdays, aquatic classes are held at Bethpage Community Park. Try Tai Chi on Wednesdays at the Hicksville Community Center and Fridays three of these centers has an array of classes.
