Town of Oyster Bay Holds Line on Pool Fees

Individual and family packages are available.

Families and seniors will be able to enjoy the Town of Oyster Bay's four community park pool complexes at the same great rate they have enjoyed since 2008, according to Town Councilman Anthony D. Macagnone.

"Our community park pools have always been an excellent value for residents' vacation dollars," Councilman Macagnone said. "A pool membership is a ticket to family fun and relaxation all summer long, not to mention a great way to stay in shape." 

The fees for family memberships at the Town's community park pool complexes…Bethpage, Marjorie R. Post (Massapequa), Plainview-Old Bethpage and Syosset-Woodbury…are $175.00 for park district residents and $210.00 for non-park district residents while individual memberships are $95.00 for park district residents and $110.00 for non-park district residents. Park district resident senior citizen (60 and older) individual and couple pool memberships are $45.00 and $80.00, respectively, while the fees for Town resident seniors residing outside the park district are $55.00 for individuals and $95.00 for couples. The rate for handicapped individuals with a Social Security Medicare I.D. Card are $40.00 for park district residents and $50.00 for non-park district resident. Daily admissions for those accompanied by a pool member are $5.00 for children ages three to 15, $7.00 for adults 16 and older, and $4.00 for seniors. A nanny membership will be available for $110.00 for the season.

Councilman Macagnone noted that guest books will also be available. The cost of a book with ten admissions will be $40.00. Purchase must be made by a pool member, and those using passes must be accompanied by a pool member.

"The 2010 pool season will run from Saturday, June 19, through Labor day, Monday, September 6," Councilman Macagnone said. "On June 19 through June 25, pools will be open from noon to 6:00 p.m. From Saturday, June 26, through Sunday, August 22, the pools will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. From Monday, August 23, through Sunday, September 5, pools will be open from noon to 8:00 p.m. On Labor Day, Monday, September 6, the hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m."

The Councilman added that Town pool membership applications will be mailed to former pool members before the season begins. Beginning Saturday, May 29, and continuing through July 5, registration will be conducted Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and holidays from noon to 6:00 p.m., and on Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 7:00 p.m. Starting July 6, registration will be conducted daily during operating hours. Residents must bring proof of residency such as a tax bill, driver's license or utility bill that has their name and address.
