The Town of Oyster Bay has partnered with the Greater Long Island Running Club to organize a Youth Training Program for future triathletes.

The program is designed for kids ages 8 to 13 and prepares the participants for the annual "Town of Oyster Bay Junior Triathlon," scheduled for Aug. 25.

The program begins with a training seminar in early June and is followed beginning June 29 by a series of eight weekend sessions on Saturday afternoons from 4 to 6 pm.

The sessions will be held at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay.

The sessions will instruct students in running, biking, and swimming: the three components of a triathlon. It also teaches the students the importance of preparing for the triathlon; everything from proper nutrition to apparel and bike accessories. There is a $25 fee for the program. To sign up go to www.glirc.org or call Linda or Mike at the Running Club office.
