Town Votes Tuesday on Jackson Avenue Project

Meeting starts at 10 a.m.

The Town of Oyster Bay will vote Tuesday morning on a new design for the long-awaited Jackson Avenue improvement project.

It was expected that the project would break ground in June after a deal between Nassau County and the Town of Oyster Bay to share the cost of the road and transfer its control from county to Town hands.

However, the Town said it needed new plans to bring the project up to its specifications. The contract Nassau County had agreed to with local contractor E.W. Howell was canceled, and the project will be rebid.
