Town's Music Under The Stars Heats Up Summer

Oyster Bay concert series kicks off Tuesday.

Top acts, tribute bands and even a former New York Yankee are set to take the stage this summer in the Town of Oyster Bay.

The annual "Music Under the Stars" Concert series kicks off Tuesday. The free outdoor shows will take place at parks and beaches around town.  They're always among the most popular events in town and here's a look at this year's schedule:

Tue. July 9: Gloria Gaynor and That '70s band at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.

Wed. July 10: The Zombies featuring Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent at Ellsworth W. Allen Park in Farmingdale at 8 p.m.

Thu. July 11: Big Band music from "Meet the Jumpers" at Tappen Beach in Glenwood Landing. at 8 p.m.

Fri. July 12: Magical Music of Disney featuring Dean Karahalis at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park in Woodbury at 8 p.m.

Sat. July 13: Former New York Yankee turned classical guitarist Bernie Williams and his All Star Band at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.

Tue. July 16: The Town's annual "Salute to America" featuring "Tramps Like Us," a Bruce Springsteen tribute band and Fireworks by Grucii. at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa at 7:30 p.m.

Wed. July 17:  "Broadway  Tonite!" songs from great musicals at Ellsworth W. Allen Park in Farmingdale at 8 p.m. 

Thu. July 18: The Osmand Brothers Jimmy, Jay and Merrill Osmond perform in Syosset-Woodbury Park in Woodbury at 8 p.m.

Fri: July 19: Rolling Stones Tribute band "Satisfaction" and Queen Tribute Band "Almost Queen" at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park & Beach in Oyster Bay at 8 p.m.

Sat. July 20:  The Town holds its annual Children's Festival and Safety Day from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at John J. Burns Town Park in Massapequa. 

Tue. July 23:"The Orchestra" featuring former members of E.L.O and the Electric Light Orchestra Part II  at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.

Wed. July 24: Helen Reddy performs at Ellsworth W. Allen Park in Farmingdale at 8 p.m.

Thu.: July 25: Oldies music featuring "The Clusters" and "Tribute  to the King" an Elvis Presley Tribute band perform in Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in  Oyster Bay at 8 p.m.

Fri. July 26: Kickin' Country with" Walking the Line," a Johnny Cash Tribute Band and "Radio Nashville," at John J. Burns Town Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m. 

Sat. July 27: Burton Cummings, formerly of "The Guess Who" performs with The Burton Cummings Band at John J. Burns Town Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.

Tue. July 30: Grand Funk Railroad featuring funding members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher perform at John J. Burns Town Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.

Wed. July 31: The Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra conducted by Lou Panacciulli performs at Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park in Plainview at 8 p.m.

Thu. Aug. 1: "Rubix Kube," an '80s Tribute Band and Latin Dance star Lisa Lisa perform at  Ellsworth W. Allen Park in Farmingdale at 8 p.m.

Fri: Aug: 2: The Cast of "Beatlemania" and "Beginnings, a Chicago Tribute Band perform at  John J. Burns Town Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.

Sat. Aug 3: Lenny Cocco & The Chimes, Tommy Mara & The Crests and Ahirley Alston Reeves, the former lead singer of the Shirelles perform at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.

Tue: Aug 6: Irish singers Andy Cooney and Ronan Tynan perform at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.

Wed. Aug. 7: Dr. K's Motown Revue performs at Syosset Woodbury Park in Woodbury at 8 p.m.

Thu. Aug. 8: Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot, a Billy Joel Tribute band performs at Theodore Roosevelt memorial Park & Beach in Oyster Bay at 8 p.m.

Fri: Aug 9: Disney in Concert featuring Dean Karahalis and the Concert Pops Orchestra perform at John J. Burns Town Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.

Sat. Aug 10: Former Foreigner lead singer Lou Gramm Performs at John J. Burns Town Park in Massapequa at 8 p.m.
