Young TOBAY Resident Stands Up to Cancer

Gina Gallardo joins Macagnone to raise awareness, staycationing in the Town, and reminders from TOBAY.

Town Councilman Anthony Macagnone announced the Gina Gallardo Bone Marrow, Blood Drive and Fundraiser Against Cancer this week. Gallardo and her mother, Katie, met with Macagnone to help raise awareness for the event and for helping others in need.

Five-year-old Gina Gallardo of Syosset was diagnosed with leukemia at age two. After treatment, Gallardo has been cancer free since July 2011. The fundraiser, which will be held in July in Plainview, will require lots of helping hands, so call (516) 677-0183 to volunteer.
