Jackson Avenue Construction – The Saga Continues

Construction on Jackson Avenue completed its third week.

After a three day weekend, the construction crews returned on Tuesday morning to continue their work on the Jackson Avenue Improvement Project. Construction is now in its third week.

The installation of drainage pipes and catch basins continued on the west side of the street between Dawes Avenue and Lewis Lane. The curbs and sidewalks from Edward Avenue to Walker Avenue were ripped up, and by Friday, new curbs and sidewalks were installed along this stretch.

Workers from the Jericho Water District were also on hand as the new piping was installed in the streets near water mains.

Surveyors spent time surveying the avenue from Lewis Lane to Lucille Drive, preparing for the next phase of the construction project.

Traffic continued to flow smoothly, although during the hours of construction, it seemed to be lighter.
