Jackson Avenue Improvement Project – Week 12

Work also continued on the westside of the avenue with the pouring of cement for sidewalks from Walker Avenue to Dawes Avenue, and further up north by the Citgo Station.

Residents were concerned about the installation of the new traffic light by Dawes Avenue and The Mall. I am happy to report that stanchions have been installed for the new light on the westside of the street adjacent to the corner of Dawes Avenue. Stanchions were also repositioned on the westside of Jackson Avenue for the traffic light at Teibrook Avenue.

Traffic continued to move at a steady pace, although it was lighter in volume. People seem to be using Underhill Boulevard as an alternative.
