Jackson Avenue Improvement Project – Week Five

The Jackson Avenue Improvement Project starts its second month.

As the second month of construction began last week, the construction crews worked on the installation of the catch basins by the Community Garden, across from St. Edwards Church, and by the Citgo Station on Devine Avenue. A fire hydrant by Walters Avenue was repositioned, and utility work was done by the Bella Notte Restaurant by Jackson Avenue and Ira Road.

The main emphasis this week was the installation of new sidewalks and curbs along the west side of Jackson Avenue from Patto Realtors and the neighboring stores by Edward Avenue, north to Lewis Lane.

The construction crews worked in an organized and professional manner, and once again, kept the traffic moving at a steady pace throughout the week.

If the work continues at this pace, the Jackson Avenue Improvement Project may be completed in less than 18 months. Let’s hope!
