Cops: Designer Bags Stolen from Cars

Expensive accessories taken from cars near Syosset last week.

Kate Spade and Coach bags, Ray Bans, and Nardo shoes were taken from cars in the Syosset area last week, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops reported seven grand larcenies in the last week involving car break-ins and stolen bikes. Reports stemmed from Jericho, Oyster Bay, Bethpage, Farmingdale, and Levittown.

At Jericho's Lifetime Fitness, a car was broken into at about 4:45 p.m., police said. Burglars made off with a Coach pocketbook, Kate Spade pocketbook, and cash. On the same day in Jericho, Nardo shoes, Ray Ban sunglasses, an iPad, and a GPS were swiped from a car overnight.

The Second Precinct reported the following crimes:

  • July 31: Grand larceny; Fulton Street, Farmingdale; wallet, credit cards, cash stolen from car.
  • July 31: Grand larceny; South Street, Oyster Bay; 10-speed bike stolen.
  • July 31: Grand larceny; McDonald's, Farmingdale; bike stolen.
  • Aug. 1: Grand larceny; Fife and Drum Bar, Bethpage; cash, checkbook stolen from car.
  • Aug. 5: Grand larceny; Campus Lane and Chimney Lane, Levittown; credit cards, cash stolen from car.
  • Aug. 6: Grand larceny; Lifetime Fitness, Jericho; Coach pocketbook, Kate Spade pocketbook, cash stolen from car.
  • Aug. 6: Grand larceny; Yates Lane, Jericho; Nardo shoes, Ray Ban glasses, iPad, GPS stolen from car.
