Gift of Life Recipient Visits Syosset High School

SHS Interact Club has raised money for the cause for 10 years through its very successful Blue Jeans for Babies fundraiser.

Members of the Syosset High School Interact Club had a special visitor on Jan. 8 – 7-year-old Ermilinda Rexha from Kosovo, who will be receiving cardiac surgery in the U.S. through Gift of Life International.

The organization provides life-saving cardiac surgeries for children in need throughout the world. Ermilinda, along with her mother Linda and translator Freddy Sadiku, met with the students to discuss her experience in the U.S. and answer questions.

The club has raised money for the cause for 10 years through its very successful Blue Jeans for Babies fundraiser, which collects money from students and faculty members for wearing blue jeans on a specific day. One hundred percent of the profits from the fundraiser are donated to Gift of Life International.
