"I didn't feel that on," Cheng told Newsday. "I wasn't one hundred percent and I felt a little sick but that isn't any excuse for me to play badly. She played really well and also the cold slowed me down a little so I just had to force myself to move my feet."

"I wasn't worried at all about the cold," Coach Larry Levane told Newsday of the frigid, post-Sandy weather that hung over the championship matches. "We were off for three weeks though, so I was worried a little bit about the inactivity but we had a good couple of practices the last few days and the girls were ready."
