H.B. Thompson Students Celebrate Spirit Week

Students participate in a variety of challenges, games, relays and activities that fostered a strong sense of schoolwide community.

H.B. Thompson Middle School in Syosset celebrated Spirit Week during the week
of Dec. 2.

Throughout the week, students competed and participated in a variety of
challenges, games, relays and activities that fostered a strong sense of schoolwide
community. Divided into teams, students competed for points with each activity.

The festivities kicked off on Dec. 2 with an opening ceremony, and throughout the
week students took part in scooter and skills relay races, floor hockey, bean bag toss, European handball, lax throw, hula hooping, a balloon pop, basketball layups and agility ball, in addition to many other activities.

Students also had the opportunity to create crazy hats, as well as compete in “History Jeopardy” and a scavenger hunt. All activities enabled students to accumulate points for their respective teams.

Spirit Week finished with a closing ceremony on Dec. 6, which featured volleyball matches and a tug of war competition.
