5 Things You Need to Know for Monday.

Hello and happy Monday to you. Welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today." Today we remember civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. 

  1. All schools in the are closed as well as government offices and the post office, but the remains open. 
  2. There is no garbage pickup today because of the holiday. 
  3. Take the kids to the African American Museum in Hempstead, which is featuring taken by Pulitzer Prize winner Moneta Sleet, Jr. Today only, the museum, open from noon until 8 p.m., will play short documentaries of Dr. King's life.
