We have lived in Syosset for 38 years, and we have never been as proud of our community as we are today. Every school board should have atleast one high school student as a member. maybe some real changes can be made!! And shame on whoever decided to call the police and then notify the residents by phone....for something the candidate didn't even do....but these actions probably helped to give Josh such an overwhelming victory!!

No doubt. It is great to see Josh have the support of so many people in the community who are open to fresh ideas and necessary changes.

The school district opened itself to a slander law suit and helped elect Joshua Lafazan. Thank you to the school district for the later. There is more than one ridiculous salary in Syosset Schools and the district’s success is not directly or indirectly related to bloated salaries.

Hankin recently signed a 5 yr contract so she isn't going anywhere. However, I do agree that many of the people in Syosset just don't get it. There aren't enough people who vote and those that do are parents who are afraid their children's extracurricular activities are going to be cut so they vote yes. With all the taxes collected in this district, it is amazing that people truly believe this. Unless more people can come together and DEMAND reform, nothing will change. On the bright side, there are two new faces, so that's a start. Good Luck!

While the robocall stunt was obviously a smear tactic that failed miserably, it would be quite hypocritical of Josh or his Dad to bring suit against the district. As warranted as it may seem or be, it would be completely contrary to his stated goals of saving the district money. If he were to sue, win, and be awarded any sum of money, who do you think would be footing that bill? You guessed it. So I would assume/hope that we have heard the last of The Great Absentee Ballot Caper.
