Portable Outdoor Lights For SHS, Thompson and Baylis

County Legislator Judy Jacobs helps secure $48,000 for school district to buy portable lights.

Nassau County will provide $48,000 in Capital funds to the Syosset Central School District for the purchase of portable light sets, County Legislator Judy Jacobs, D-Woodbury, recently announced. 

The portable light sets will be used at the Syosset Central School District High School, the H.B. Thompson Middle School, and the J. Irving Baylis School for athletic events and other events open to the residents of Nassau County.

Jacobs, a parent of three who attended the Syosset schools said, “I am very pleased that the County has made the commitment to the $48,000.00 to support this project. It will allow the District to have better use of their fields. It is my pleasure to have been able to bring this to fruition.”

Pursuant to Article 9, of the NYS Constitution and Article 5-G of the General Municipal Law, the County may enter into intergovernmental agreements. This inter-municipal agreement is between the County and the District.
