PTA Helps Students Shop Between Lessons

Annual holiday boutique travels around Syosset middle and elementary schools so students can shop for loved ones.

The Syosset PTA has organized the annual Holiday Boutique for students in the elementary and middle schools this year. Local vendors will sell personalized gifts, many for under $5, for moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and friends.

"They love it," said  principal, Theresa Scrocco talking about her students. "They walk out so excited with a wrapped present for someone they care about."

Each class will have a designated time where they will go with their teacher to the boutique, usually held in either the cafeteria, gymnasium or all purpose room.

"I think its a great thing for kids to be able to shop independently and be very proud of what they were able to buy," Scrocco said.
